The Board was not consulted on the published SFRA, despite providing flood risk data to the consultants appointed to prepare it. The SFRA contains errors and misses the key message of the Marston Vale Surface Waters Plan, which is strategic and integrated SuDs that are adopted and maintained by a public body. In the SFRA, the chapter on strategic flood risk solutions appears to be generic and lacking in specific detail relevant to Bedfordshire, which seems inappropriate to Central Bedfordshire. The plans titled CBC Watercourses omit critical watercourses such as Eggington Brook, Elstow Brook and watercourses around Sandy & Biggleswade.

CBC have not consulted the Bedford Group of Drainage Boards on these supporting documents regarding flood risk. There is insufficient time during the limited 8 week public consultation period to review and comment on these individually. However a generic comment would be that the Flood Risk Assessments are inadequate as they fail to capture local flooding issues, such as the sites at Arlesey don't reference the problems of flooding from the Pix Brook at Arlesey and Stotfold.
