Please note that your representations and personal details will be stored and processed by Central Bedfordshire Council, using Opus Consult software provided by JDI Solutions, for the purposes of consultations on the Local Plan. The information collected may be disclosed to officers and elected members of the Council.
The requirements for consultation in relation to Local Plans are defined by the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026. If you do not provide your personal information, your comments on the Local Plan cannot be registered or used for the purpose of developing the Local Plan. Anonymous responses are not accepted.
Your name and representations may be made publicly available in full when reporting the outcome of the consultation stages and cannot be treated as confidential. Any other personal details including your home address, email address, telephone number and signature will be treated as confidential. However, when the Council consults on the proposed Local Plan (Regulation 27) your contact details may be passed on to the Planning Inspectorate and Programme Officer managing the Examination in order for you to be contacted to take part in the Examination. Notifications may be sent to you to provide updates on Local Plan consultations.
Your personal details will be safeguarded and will not be divulged to any other individuals or organisations for any other purposes unless we need to do so in order to meet our legal duties or obligations.
With regards to the use of AI, representations will be anonynimsed and sent to the University of Liverpool to be processed, analysed and summarised through PlanAI. Data will be deleted from this server once processing is complete and not retained beyond the agreed retention period. Information summarised using PlanAI may be published, but no personal details will be disclosed. No decisions will be made using AI.
If you do not wish to have your personal details retained for the purposes given, please contact localplan@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk who will arrange for their removal and the deletion of your representations on the Local Plan. We will only be able to locate your data for removal if you have provided us with a personal identifier, such as your email address.
