Central Bedfordshire Pre-submission Local Plan (January 2018)

4. Vision & Objectives

Representation ID: 11851

Received: 22/02/2018

Respondent: Millbrook Parish Meeting

Agent: Miss Julie Todd

Representation:

GENERAL - lack of detail in the Plan, hard to make informed comments on infrastructure etc

04

Full text:

The overarching comment is with the lack of detail in the Plan. Informed comments on key issues such as infrastructure, schools and health facilities are impossible to make. This detail might be available at the O&H Properties Consultation next week however it will be past the CBC deadline for comment. Taking this on board, Millbrook Parish Meeting comment as follows:

*Infrastructure - two important road links need to be built prior to housing construction

*Millbrook is already being used as a rat run - with development at Stewartby and Wixams and 650 houses at Great Thickthorn Farm there will be considerable extra traffic on the B530. It is highly likely a high proportion will use Houghton Lane and Millbrook Village as a "rat run". Factor in the four new villages and residents driving to Flitwick station to work in London, Millbrook would become a major thoroughfare. This would be unacceptable unless an alternative route is provided.

*Millbrook Proving Ground must be provided with a suitable road link to the A421.
